Eco Skateboard by 'Let's EVO'

Skateboarding has always had a bit of green in it. I mean its totally human powered, no emissions are emitted during use, aside from huffing and puffing. THe only non-green part was the board itself. But now a company has fixed that too.

Brazilian innovation group Let's EVO
has created a sustainable skateboard. The cover layers are from Papunha
Veneer, produced from the waste of the sustainable palm-heart industry.
The second layer is a composite formed by 70% natural fibers (jute,
malva and curaua) and 30% post-production recycled polypropylene.
All of these materials are bonded with a vegetable-based adhesive
extracted from species like castor oil plant, soy and corn. I love the
fact that the board's look is inspired by nature, hence its name,
"Folha Seca"; Dry Leaf in English. For more extreme sporty madness, visit our sister site Nollie.

Reciept Lamp

French designer Elise Fouin gets 'credit' for this cool looking innovative piece of decor. Who knows how many rolls of receipts get thrown into the trash every day. At least someone is trying to do something out there!

Traditional yoga mats are made of a mix of rubber and other chemicals. But for people who are trying to balance their body and soul, you may want to think about what you're laying on and grab yourself a PVC-free mat.

The Harmony Natural Rubber Yoga Mat is PVC-free, as well as made from natural rubber. Not only are these mats all natural, they provide a slip-resistant surface for your yoga practice. Like any new yoga mat, this product may have a slight rubber smell that will go away with time. It is available in Sedona red, Tibetan orange, black, midnight blue, orchid, and olive green. MacBook Air

Just revealed yesterday at MacWorld in SanFrancisco by Steve Jobs, the new Macbook Air laptop is the thinest laptop on the market, and is part of a step forward in eco-friendly technology. The Air features an recyclable aluminum case (not made of recycled, but someday?), and a mercury- and arsenic-free glass display. The circuit boards are BFR free and PVC free. And due to the economical feel of its design, the packaging has about 50% less volume than the regular MacBook.

Jobs said Apple planned to introduce in 2007 its first displays using arsenic-free glass, but I guess January 2008 is better late than never. By the end of 2008, Apple says it plans to completely eliminate the use of PVC and BFRs in its products.

Recycled Memory Card Holder

With countless phones, cameras, GPS devices and mp3 players, everyone has way too many memory cards just floating around. As a photographer I'm constantly finding cards laying around the house, and have lost a good number along the way. Tom Kenworthy's newly designed Memory Card Holder is one possible solution to your memory card woes.

Made out of recycled plastic cups (seriously), Kenworthy's 3 tiered designed holder looks great. It carries 8 different memory cards in a cool looking slide-out design. It takes only 7 plastic cups to made the holder, and its a great way to keep your cards in one place.

There is no price yet, nor place to buy, but its coming. I'm just hoping they make ones with your choice of card because I have way more CompactFlash cards than anything.

Recycled Metal Tiles For Wall or Floor

Recycled metal tiles add a versatile and textural design element to your kitchen or bathroom wall or floor designs. Metal tiles may also help you achieve balance in your kitchen design when you start to feel overcome by all of the wood. For the urban loft or the suburban ranch, metal tiles appeal to our textural and visual senses and can be designed as funky or finessed as your design tastes allow.

These look pretty good for a kitchen or bathroom wall. They're 100% recycled, come in a variety of shades which allow you to make some interesting patterns, and give you the 'high end' look of metal finishing while saving the planet. Win/Win if you ask me!
